Originally from New York Maeve belongs to the Native American. She is a part Blackfoot, part Cherokee. The first time she appeared on screen was 2005's short film Liminality. Her big-screen debut in 2005 on the critically-acclaimed drama comedy Transamerica. The year was 2014 when she was on TV in a Law & Order Criminal Intent Season four episode. She joined The Dick Wolf's Chicago franchise in 2014 as Nadia Decotis, Chicago P.D. . She played the character from 2011 to 2015, and then reprised it in Law & Order Special Victims Unit, a second TV series produced by Wolf. That same year she took on the role of Julia Wicker, the main female character on Syfy The Magicians, a fantasy-drama The Magicians. Stella Maeve was a television actress who had successes, and she continued acting in independent films. In 2012, the Robert Altman Prize was awarded to her for her role as a cast part in 2012's Drama Starlet at the Film Independent Spirit Awards.
